Ron Sloy provided an engaging introduction for the son of a former President at NWUCA Convention in Sun River Oregon

Ron Sloy gave a charming introduction to Steve Ford, child of the former President Gerald R. Ford and Betty Ford, on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Convention of the Northwest Utility Contractor’s Association in Sunriver, Oregon. Ron had an unlikely run-in with Steve’s parents many years prior in Palm Desert, California, giving his introductory speech an intriguing twist.
For this event, Steve was chosen as the speaker given his incomparable experience as the son of the former President. He commented on his 18-year-old self. At the time he was constantly among the looming presence of ten Secret Service agents. He mentioned his father’s pardon of President Nixon in regards to the Watergate affair, and how he was able to put the entire situation to a final rest. Finally, he disclosed some of the tragedies that his family endured, including two attempts to assassinate his father, and his mother’s endeavors with alcoholism and breast cancer.
